UBA Group Managing Director Celebrates One Year of Impactful Service, "Promises Even Better to Come"

The management of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, known as Africa's Global Bank, has announced its dedication to improving customer experience and expressed optimism for further accomplishments that will benefit both customers and shareholders.
UBA's Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Oliver Alawuba, made this commitment during a celebration held in Lagos on Tuesday to mark his first-year anniversary in office. He assured investors and customers that there are even greater achievements to come.

Since the 'UBA 4.0 Team,' led by Alawuba, assumed leadership in August 2022, the bank has achieved remarkable profit margins and experienced transformative growth in both international and African markets.
The GMD expressed appreciation to his team and other internal stakeholders for the numerous successes attained in the last 12 months. He highlighted that their collective efforts have led to significant business victories in various markets, firmly establishing the bank's position as a leading financial institution in the region.

He clarified that the bank will remain proactive in its efforts to fulfill its commitment of becoming the leading financial services provider in Africa and beyond. He emphasized that they will persistently concentrate on three key areas of transformation: People, Process, and Technology.
Alawuba underscored the significance of involving stakeholders to propel advancements in all aspects of the bank's operations. He restated his dedication to ongoing engagement in all geographical regions to ensure that UBA maintains its leading position in the financial industry.

  •  “I have travelled to 21 countries across our 24 presence countries in the last 12 months, I make the commitment to continuously engage all stakeholders across all geographies, to ensure we make the expected progress in every aspect of our operations,” he stated.

While restating the bank's mission to empower its customers, partners, and communities, the GMD emphasized that UBA 4.0 remains dedicated to the overall well-being of the communities it serves, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
