Mrs. Chioma Echegwusi, the Chief Executive Officer of Davichi Farms, has emerged as the overall winner of the inaugural cohort of the 'JAMII Femmes' initiative organized by Women In Africa (WIA) for female entrepreneurs in Nigeria. As the winner, she was awarded a prize of $10,000, which was presented to her alongside her husband.

The announcement of the winner and the grant prize took place during the closing ceremony of the first cohort of the 2023 'JAMII Femmes' Initiative, a collaboration between Women In Africa and the Coca-Cola Foundation. Mrs. Hafsat Abiola, President of Women In Africa, disclosed that the partnership between the Coca-Cola Foundation and WIA aimed to support 20,000 African women entrepreneurs through the 'JAMII Femmes' initiative. The primary goals of the initiative were to enhance the influence of African women entrepreneurs on the African economy and facilitate the development of innovative solutions.

"The term 'JAMII Femmes' is a blend of languages, with 'JAMII' meaning 'community' in Swahili, and 'Femmes' meaning 'women' in French. Therefore, 'JAMII Femmes' signifies a 'community for women,'" explained Mrs. Hafsat Abiola.
During the ceremony, Mr. Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, extended his congratulations to WIA for their achievement and urged the female entrepreneurs to contribute to the nation's development just as they do in their homes.

Mrs. Nwamaka Onyemelukwe, the Public Affairs and Sustainability Director of Coca-Cola Nigeria, was also present at the event.
Echegwusi expressed her gratitude towards WIA and the Coca-Cola Foundation for providing her with the opportunity to learn and expand her business. She acknowledged the invaluable expertise and insights she gained during the mentorship sessions, which played a significant role in restructuring her business and envisioning a clear path forward. Echegwusi eagerly expressed her readiness to support other female entrepreneurs, emphasizing her commitment to fostering economic growth, providing mentorship, and creating opportunities for women-led businesses.
She regarded the opportunity as a privilege and expressed her intention to share the knowledge and skills she acquired with other female entrepreneurs. Echegwusi emphasized the importance of collaboration among women to achieve remarkable progress for both the country and the continent. She extended her gratitude to WIA, the Coca-Cola Foundation, Honoris United University, and Touch Point for their support and looked forward to continued collaboration and growth together.
