The nominated individuals have successfully completed the screening process and received confirmation from the state's House of Assembly, clearing the way for the formation of the governor's cabinet.

Following their swearing-in ceremony at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Umuahia, conducted by Governor Otti at 11 AM today, the nominees will be assigned specific portfolios based on their individual strengths and areas of expertise.

According to a statement by Kazie Uko, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, the remaining three nominees are expected to undergo screening by the Assembly next week.

Earlier this week, the Otti administration announced its intention to implement a digital tax system in order to prevent revenue leakages and improve revenue collection in the state. Otti emphasized that this digital platform aims not only to simplify tax compliance but also to generate substantial revenue for developmental projects, thereby strengthening the state's economy.
Furthermore, Otti revealed on Thursday that the state would transition to a treasury single account by September. This move is aimed at centralizing all state revenue and payments, enhancing transparency and efficiency within the administration. The governor encouraged all stakeholders to embrace this shift, highlighting its benefits in fighting fraud, streamlining tax payments, empowering citizens, creating employment opportunities, and attracting investors.
